{our family of 5 for 12} summer fun

okay I'm not too good about getting photos of all 5 of us....it's tough Kent really really doesn't like having his photo taken....of course unless he's doing something stupid. But none the less...here is all 5....on the top of a little hike we did last weekend while away for the long weekend with friends...I've been so busy this week this is the first time to look at these pics....lots of great memories. the lavington crew....(and their wives and kids) we made a total of 23 people. Wowsa!~great time....my kids will have amazing memories of their adventures with all this crew. They loved their time with their cousins, Hannah & Brennan!:) already planning what adventures we will have next year on our annual Lavington weekend.
Yes it was sunny and hot! We soaked in as much as we could!
finally a hot type weekend here...so we're off to Nana & Grandpa's house for  a weekend of sunshine soaking up!:)

{bounty} box a week

one of the best parts of summer is the weekly box of organic local fruit and veggies I receive weekly....wow! ~the taste of these items is beyond delicious....it's pretty hard to go back to regular store bought veggies once summer is over....Mackin Creek Farm does an amazing job...check them out here.

{week 52} rainy day projects...

we've been busy trying to find lots of new rainy day projects...their lovely sitter showed the girls how to made things with pony beads...well we searched all through town for beads...finally scored at Walmart with a rainbow of beads. The girls spent a whole afternoon making things from snakes, trees, fish to lizards. they are thinking of setting up a booth in our driveway to sell their wares... Grady was right in the middle for part of it. When he was helping you heard many beads hit the floor. we're still wishing for sunshine....come on summer we want some beach days!

This is the last week of my 52 week challenge of taking a shot of the 3 of them doing whatever they do!~I think I will do a little something different in August and then come back to this challenge next fall. It's a great way to capture how they grow and their day to day life. I can't wait to design an album~ happy craftin all!

I LOVE weddings! It's even better when I can shoot with my great friend Leslie...it's great to have a friend to talk shop with and even better when I'm able to 2nd shoot for each other.

{E-Session} Colt & Anthony

I met Colt & Anthony last summer at the lake....Colt and I talked cameras which is always fun! These guys have smiles that could light up any room. Thanks for sharing an evening with me....it was great fun! They even brought they dogs Bob and Keep out for a few photos too!~ (very well behaved dogs I might add!) Congratulations to you both!:)

{week 51} a day with daddy

                                                                                          {week 51}

A sunny morning spent with Daddy at one of his extra projects...very fun to explore a logging site...lots of mighty machines for G to look at and mud! At least it had a bit of crust on it so we were all good. The thrill was daddy's radios. Lots of radio action talk on these ....we also went for a little hike along the bottom part of this block to do some GPS's...I thought the skits were going to pick us up and take us away. Taught the kids how to use an aspen branch with leaves to whisk them away....

{friday favourites} party time Grady is 3

I love parties...this is the first year that I've done anything besides just cake and presents with his sisters. Grady now knows all about parties. He has been talking up his "lightening" party for sometime. So I thought I'd better do a little something. poor timing with his sisters having art class this week. But it did help keep it simple. He chose his two best friends Charlie & Dawson (younger brothers of his sisters best friends~) for a morning playdate. We set up the night before with the help of the girls. We built a big train track and designed a race track that would impress even the fastest lightening cars...the girls helped me decorate some cupcakes for his race car cupcake track. Once the girls came home from art class they joined in for lunch, cupcakes and presents. Phhhh...2011 birthday are finished at the Watson house....enjoy some of the random shots from the morning of race cars, thomas trains and " I'm the fastest"....boys are so competetive:)

I'm 3

it's official Grady is three....gone are the two's. Yesterday was his lightening party.... He is growing up tooo fast. Good thing he's a momma's boy and those eyelashes just melt my heart!
Facts about grady:

He can do his business on the potty but finds he's "too busy"
loves shorts...will wear the same pair for days.

has the largest vocabulary for a 3 year old...
can say his ABC  and almost do it en francais too!

Tia is his newest best friend.
still thinks we have a holiday house in Arizona and a white van...

{horsefly} Arts on the fly

this is the first year we've been to this local music festival...its located in horsefly...about an hour away!~ it was a lovely sunny day for a drive. The music was great. I could have stayed all day. My troops were fading quickly after about 4 hours of snacks, hula hoop, playground, icecream and music. We headed it for home. Carrigan and Grady were asleep ASAP!~ Makenna read the whole way home and I just enjoyed the silence and green scenery...

LOVE LOVE this mural. Looks as though it was painted on a tarp of some sort...located at the horsefly school. Artsy bunch out there...Grady thought it was a grand game to run back and forth to mom... maybe next year we'll camp out that way and the kids can hang out with daddy while I sit on the green grass and enjoy the music...

{week 50} arts on the fly in horsefly

we had a great weekend....spent a day at horsefly checking out the arts on the fly~ good times (more to blog later this week stay tuned!)
then we went fishing with daddy at tyee lake on sunday....yay for sunshine even if it wasn't hot enough for us....we're still hoping for some hot summer days for beach days. lastest that we've ever gone without swimming or skiing yet.

{108 Mile House Wedding} detail

I love weddings....the love and connection between two people in love it is an amazing thing to witness. I have the most amazing job in the world. I get to capture these moments thru my lens...I have the honour to be present during the  expressions of their love!~a very important day to say the least! 

I met up with Tara & Steve and instantly fell witness to their connection. Tara is my perfect bride. Organized & creative! A girl after my own heart. Here is some items she has forwarded to be about their big day. The amazing spot to where the wedding nuptials will take place~and oh yes there is a story behind this location (you will have to wait for that)~ and a color swatch of their plan!

As my kids would say only 17 more sleeps....

{week 49} schools out...

week 49....wow only 3 more posts till I completed my 52 weekly challenge of pics of the three of them. This is the morning of the last day of school!!! Happy faces and happy feet!~ "summer holidays" are upon us...although we're just wishing for sunshine at the moment. Feeling a little cabin feverish...tired of our rainy day activities...hopefully this week will bring some sun our way~

{birthday} Makenna is 8

Beach party for Makenna this year....the weather had me sooo worried. No I didn't have a back up plan...rain or shine. It was  raining on our way out to Nana and Grandpa's house...but it stopped and the skies cleared. We played some "crazy" badminton in the wind...check out the blue skies a sight we haven't seen much yet.


lots of fun had by all! badminton rackets also make great guitars as seen by C & O below. I attempted Cake pops for Makenna's cake...they don't transport very well. But the kids liked them!

Also a picture of Makenna and Ty: birthday buddies! Ty's mom and I met in the hospital with our new babes!~

 photo booth fun...my kids love love dress-up I robbed their dress up box and added a few new things and off we go for a fun and silly photobooth! Even uncle stuck a pose!

well this isn't what I envisioned for the day....I thought they would be swimming and playing in the water like a usual july day...and then come up on the grass and make a smoothie....but otherwise the smoothie bar was a hit! we had kiwi, pineapple, mango, coconut milk, cherry, and more...Mmmmm tasty!

I was sooo tired after this busy day....only 9 more days till the next birthday....at least grady's will be small and simple!~cars and trains!

{Kindergarten Graduation} ecole marie sharpe....

it's a big day for Carrigan today!~ Kindergarten Graduation....a long road ahead of her of school adventures. She is ready and keen! Her  is a collection of caps that a friend and I made for her class. Last day of school!:) Yay I LOVE summer holidays. I especially LOVE having my kids home everyday with me...oh the fun adventures we are going to have...you should see our summer bucket list!~

{week 48} owen lake camping

our first camping trip of the season....with this rainy weather it made it not as tempting to go camping...but below are the reason we do it!~the kids had sooo much fun! they played and played.(board games, running races, digging in the dirt and more) Here is the crew all sitting for there breakfast! I forgot a memory card for my camera so these are taken on my iphone...not too shabby for a p&s....thanks to the Gash & Altwasser family for a great weekend~

fishing boat

Kent's grandparents just moved into a seniors village in the OK after 42 years in their home. With loads of treasures still being boxed for the auction his grandpa was pleased as punch that Kent would purchase his boat from him. Unfortunately, he is unable to go fishing anymore. Kent has fond memories of fishing with his grandpa....his vision of his boat was a little better than when we picked it up a couple of weeks ago. The boat was showing sign of wear and being "grandpa-ized"... well i surprised Kent with a new fresh paint job of the boat. With lots of sanding needed to get off the old paint. Now to remove all the rest of the doo-hickeys that are on the boat...although I'm thinking the umbrella holder may just come in handy...happy fishing to you all!~

{friday favourites} wall canvas

I love CANVAS PRINTS~ Here is my collection of our fav's from our travels...they live on the walls going down to our basement...I get to see them many times daily!~this collection makes my heart sing~I love all these moments. When we had our house reno'd Kent said we should only hang "my art"...with photos of those things that we LOVE! Little did he know I would hold him to this and create some amazing canvas prints to cover our walls....I use an amazing pro lab that makes my photos on canvas look amazing! ( i have more to show...i'll save for another week)

{bird whisperer} Grady

here is our bird "tia"...lovebirds usually bond with someone (or another bird) I hoped this bird would bond with Makenna...well who would have guessed the little boy who drives his cars on her cage and is constantly putting his fingers in her cage to be nibbled on would be the one she loves the most! She loves  Grady! He has no fear of her and picks her up to kiss and snuggle her. She now spends 1/2 her time living in his room...during bedtime she comes out and enjoys a snuggle with G while I read stories.
